Bank linking, UK payment initiation, VRP consents and identity verification through Plaid Link.

UK variable recurring payments between accounts the same person holds (sweeping), under one long-lived mandate.

  • Payoutsbanking.payouts

Coverage

Countries Unirail routes today

  • GB United Kingdom

Account schemes

  • payto://scan
UK sort code and account number

Custody

Who holds the money while a payment through Plaid is in flight. Unirail records custody on every leg, and your routing policy decides which kinds are allowed.

  • noneNo custody

Nobody holds the money. The payer’s bank pays the payee’s bank directly; the provider only instructs it.

Who is regulated

Plaid is the PISP and AISP; the platform contracts with Plaid directly.

With your own contract, you stay the provider’s customer. Unirail acts as your technical service provider and calls Plaid with your credentials.

Onboarding

Sandbox
Self-serve sandbox
Production
Contract with the provider

Production Payment Initiation needs Plaid's approval of the use case; VRP is enabled separately.
